Several weeks ago, Microsoft filed a suit against Motorola saying the components they supply to the console maker are overpriced and violate the terms of previous agreements between the two companies. However, Motorola is firing back at Microsoft with a counter-suit alleging that Microsoft is infringing on a number of its patents, and is calling for a cessation of sales of the Xbox 360 console while the matter is decided.  Of course, the halt of such a massively popular product is unlikely to happen, so I wouldn’t worry about hoarding Xbox 360 consoles just yet. Still, the fact that Motorola is calling for such an extreme measure may indicate that they believe they have a strong case against Microsoft. |
