New Pokémon and GoldenSun DS Headed to Japan in 2010

None

Nintendo’s made a bunch of headlines today on the heels of an investor’s meeting in Tokyo.

The first of which is that a new entry (entries we assume) in the main-line Pokémon franchise is headed to Japan in 2010. It’s hard to believe that it has already been four years since Diamond and Pearl released there.

Not a lot of information was forthcoming about what we can expect from the latest collectible offering, other than the usual announcement tidbits. Of course, Gamefreak will be developing the title and new Pokémon will be available. More interestingly, a new region will featured in the game and some new gameplay concepts will be introduced. Expect worldwide release dates and a lot more info from Nintendo soon.

Additionally, it was also confirmed that the fan-favorite first-party RPG Golden Sun franchise is set for release in Japan in 2010. While GoldenSun was confirmed to be getting a reboot at E3 2009, confirmation of a 2010 release in Japan seams to make it a whole lot more tangible.
