New Xbox 360 Rumor Saga Continues

New Xbox 360 Rumor Saga Continues

None

On Monday, 1UP declared that Microsoft is currently toying with the idea of releasing a new Xbox 360 SKU that incorporates Natal and has better specs while continuing to run current Xbox 360 software.

The crew at TeamXbox claims that the speculation proffered by 1UP is not entirely true. In fact, other than a future model of Xbox 360 that integrates Natal, no new specs will grace an Xbox 360 console.

Apparently, TeamXbox is privy to information that they will release over the next several weeks that details more about the future of Microsoft’s console. Specifically, the next Xbox will not be released until stereoscopic 3D televisions (similar to the quality 3D currently found in 3D movie theaters) are prevalent in households worldwide.

We’re not sure who has the better inside information, but below you’ll find the relevant excerpt from the TeamXbox article:

“Microsoft is NOT launching a new, upgraded Xbox 360 disguised as a new Xbox in 2010 (although built-in Natal technology is a possibility for a new edition of the Xbox 360, similar to the Elite or Arcade flavors).” The post continues by saying, “It’s not our intention to tease you, but for now the only thing I’m going to say about everything I heard regarding the next Xbox is that it won’t launch until a certain type of television becomes more widespread because in addition to built-in Natal tech, a key feature of the next Xbox would be full HD stereoscopic 3D visuals similar to 3D movie theatres.”
