Nintendo Amusement Park Draws Attention

Nintendo Amusement Park Draws Attention

None

Mario’s popularity continues to grow and the Nintendo Amusement Park just proves that point.

According to Wired, three students at New York University are working to create a life-size obstacle course based on the original Super Mario Bros.

The students thought of the idea for a class at NYU called Big Games. The obstacle course allows people to jump twelve feet in the air, smash Goombas, collect coins, and snag magic mushrooms with the help of a power-assist harness. After donning a Mario or Luigi costume, players can pop yellow balloon “coins,” punch a power-up box fifteen feet above their head, or dodge a Bob-omb. Sound effects add to the Super Mario feel.

The students are hoping to capture the attention of Nintendo and hope that the company would want to team with them in order to develop an advanced version of their “augmented-reality” game.
