As revealed on Miiverse on Wednesday, June 11, following Nintendo’s confirmation of two new additions to The Legend of Zelda series , the company’s Eiji Aonuma reassured the authenticity of the teaser for the next Zelda title on Wii U as genuine in-game footage.
“M any people from the media kept asking me if the footage from the new Zelda game for Wii U is just a promotional movie, but that really is actual gameplay on Wii U, ” Aonuma explained in a statement.
“ Also, ” Aonuma added, “ I wasn’t kidding about how you will be able to reach the mountains that appear in the distance if you should choose to! ”
The Legend of Zelda for Wii U, which is no doubt still a working title, is slated to release in 2015. The game is said to focus on being open-world, as players will allegedly no longer be restricted by map boundaries.
