Nintendo to Introduce Demo Play to New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Nintendo to Introduce Demo Play to New Super Mario Bros. Wii

None

For those who haven’t stayed on top of all things Nintendo, several months ago the Big N submitted an in-game help/hint system for patent protection.

This new system, known as Demo Play, will allow players to access help dynamically. In other words, if you get stuck on a difficult section, you can just let the CPU take over. With this in mind, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed today that Demo Play will be a part of New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

While this may seem initially aggravating to core players, taking a deeper look may actually play into their favor. With such a system implemented by Nintendo, the company can actually amp up the difficulty level to that of platforming circa 1986 while still appealing to the casual crowd. We’ll have to wait and see if that is how it actually plays out.
