Nioh Digital Deluxe Edition Announced

The latest game to receive the Digital Deluxe treatment is Nioh, Team Ninja’s Japan-inspired answer to Dark Souls. When the game launches on February 7 in North America, you’ll be able to choose between a Standard Edition at $60 or the newly-announced Digital Deluxe edition for $80. The latter comes with a pack of five new weapons, a PS4 avatar, and a DLC season pass.

Regardless of which version you choose, pre-ordering the game will net you the aptly-named Nioh Armor and a Nioh dynamic theme for the PS4 home menu. Finally, both pre-orders and all purchases made within the first two weeks of launch will bestow a suit of crimson armor based on the real-life samurai Yukimura Sanada. It is unknown whether these special armor sets will grant any stat bonuses or if they are simply cosmetic.

Nioh has undergone significant rebalancing since its initial reveal. The developers have shown surprising transparency throughout the development process, and players’ feedback from Nioh ‘s alpha and beta tests have helped shape the final game..
