Fallout developer Obsidian is getting ready to work on a brand new project. Given the placeholder name “Project X,” the project was revealed with a teaser image on the Obsidian website. The teaser image included a 4 inside of an ouroboros symbol, along with the following quotes:
“What do the words mean?”
“Nothing. The Dirge of EirGlanfath is sound without form, a lone voice crying out in mourning because it must.”
So what is this new project about? We have no idea. The 4 could stand for Fallout 4. Or perhaps we are looking at a brand new Dungeon Siege, considering the quotes have a definite fantasy flair to them. Perhaps we might see a return of Neverwinter Nights? But that would make the 4 seem out of place. Obsidian was said to be working on a Wheel of Time game, but little information has come out of that project.
In short, this new project remains a mystery. We will bring you more information on Obsidian’s Project X as it becomes available.
