Original Jurassic Park Cast Member Confirmed For Sequel

Original Jurassic Park Cast Member Confirmed For Sequel

If you grew up in the late 80’s/early 90’s, then you LOVED Jurassic Park . It’s a rule. While the sequels never really recaptured that original magic, the upcoming Jurassic World hopes to do just that. But will we see any familiar faces?

Yes and no. While some are hoping for the likes of characters Ian Malcolm or Dr. Allen Grant, Director Colin Trevorrow reveals it’s actually a minor character that’ll make a return (which makes more sense for their script). “I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. They’re iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons….there is a character from the first film who makes sense in our world… BD Wong will be returning as Dr. Henry Wu. He had a much larger role in the original novel, he was the engineer of this breakthrough in de-extinction. He spent two decades living in Hammond’s shadow, underappreciated. We think there’s more to his story.” Says Trevorrow.

While Jurassic World isn’t billed as a reboot/remake, many wonder if JP4 will be just another mediocre let down (as the last two sequels were). However, the director is optimistic that his film will find its own way and not falter. He states, “I’m not on a mission to separate this film from the ones that came before. That will happen naturally – I have different instincts… This film will have a lot of new ideas in it, but I think the spirit will be familiar. It will have an old soul.”

Jurassic World opens summer of 2015.
