Ouya Gets OnLive Support, Reveals Controller

Ouya Gets OnLive Support, Reveals Controller

None

Crowdfunded console Ouya has gotten its latest update posted to its Kickstarter page, revealing that cloud gaming service OnLive will be partnering with the future system when it launches early next year.

OnLive’s General Manager Bruce Grove says that his company is “pleased to deliver the same OnLive experience on the OUYA console when it launches next year,” which would suggest that Ouya owners will be getting the same service, and presumably the same available library of titles that PC, smartphone, tablet, and OnLive Game System owners have at their disposal today.

Along with the news of the new partnership, we’ve also been given the first public showing of the full Ouya controller. The update notes that the design is still a work-in-progress, but this marks the first time anyone has seen more than just the right half of it.

Ouya is still scheduled for launch in early 2013. Its Kickstarter, which has now gained almost 44,000 backers and over $5.6 million in pledged money, has 12 days left to go.
