Excited for the Ouya’s upcoming release? If so, you’re not alone. And if you want to relive this excitement over and over again, then we’ve got good news; you can expect an Ouya console to release every year.
Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman was spoke with Joystiq regarding the upcoming console.
“There will be a new Ouya ever year. There will been Ouya 2 and an Ouya 3. We’ll take advantage of faster, better processors, take advantage of prices falling. So if we can get more than 8GB of Flash in our box, we will. And in doing so, make sure that all games are backwards compatible.”
Games will be tied to a user’s Ouya account, not the system itself. So, if customers upgrade every year, there’s no need to worry about lost games.
The Ouya will be available in June for $99. It will also feature the kickstarted Double Fine game.
