There’s been a lot of talk on the OUYA forums about a 16GB version of the console that appeared (and has now disappeared) on Amazon US a few days ago. The rumor of a 16GB version is nothing new; in April of this year another forum-goer discovered a version of the console for sale on Ouya.tv, though the page was quickly taken down and forum admins were quick to point out that it was a ‘mistake’ .
But we’re not far away from Christmas now, and what with the PS4 and Xbox One releasing just in time for the intense period of giving, it would be a sound decision for the folks at OUYA to release a new version of the console with more memory. Other folks on the forum have pointed out that it would also be a great way to introduce the new controllers after the lag, latency, and material issues some people had with the originals .
It’s important to note that all of this is still very much up in the OUYA (does that even work? OUYA=air?), but we’ll be keeping a keen eye on developments .
