This generation of consoles isn’t like the last generation. Aside from the Wii U, you have to pay for online multiplayer on the major consoles. Fortunately, Sony likes to offer free weekends every once in a while, to celebrate special occasions. Street Fighter V qualifies, so this weekend is a free weekend for PlayStation 4 owners.
Starting at 12am PT on February 19, you can play all PlayStation 4 games online without a PlayStation Plus membership. This is mainly due to Street Fighter V , since there’s such a strong focus on its online multiplayer game at the moment. However, Call of Duty: Black Ops III and its new Awakening add-on were offered as another reason for the season.
The free multiplayer weekend will end at 11:59pm PT on February 21. Make sure you spend as much time as you can over the next few days, enjoying your favorite games with friends and strangers alike!
