PlayStation Collections Line Announced

PlayStation Collections Line Announced

None

Sony has unveiled PlayStation Collections, a new line of retail and digital release bundles that feature first-party PlayStation titles, in a post on the PlayStation Blog today.

The new line, which features golden “Collection” labels and new cover art, will kick off on August 28, when the previously announced Ratchet & Clank Collection is accompanied by the newly revealed God of War Saga and inFAMOUS Collection.

As for what’s actually in the bundles, the Ratchet & Clank Collection features 1080p versions of the first three titles in the series (with 720p 3D support too), as well as early demo access to the upcoming Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.

Kratos’s latest bundle, meanwhile, features full HD versions of all three core entries in the God of War series and the two Origins games originally released on PSP, alongside “exclusive bonus content,” and a free month of PlayStation Plus. The Origins titles here will support 3D.

Finally, the inFAMOUS Collection contains both inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2, the inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood DLC, extra missions, and new costumes, powers, and styles of weapons.

“Select titles” from these packages will be made available as individual purchases on the PlayStation Store, though Sony states that they will not contain the bonus extras found in the bundles.

Sony says that prices are “starting at $29.99,” but in this case that only applies to the Ratchet & Clank Collection. Both the God of War Saga and the inFAMOUS Collection will run you $39.99.
