PlayStation Plus Members Get Into DUST 514 Early

None

The upcoming free-to-play sci-fi shooter, DUST 514 is getting a “precursor release,” according to development team CCP. If you are a PlayStation Plus member, you’ll be able to join this early release event for free.

The game will open up to PlayStation Plus members on August 21st, and the event will last through September 4th, giving PS Plus members more than enough time to give the game a spin.

The “precursor release” phase of DUST will be the first build of the game that integrates interaction with EVE Online. In addition, players will be able to fight in new maps and will get to try out the game’s instant matchmaking service.

DUST 514 will also allow you to use a keyboard and mouse instead of a controller. Any USB keyboard and mouse duo will do. Simply hook them up to your PS3 and go for it.

If you aren’t a PlayStation Plus member, you can still join the closed beta of DUST 514 by purchasing the Mercenary Pack. Doing so will give you unlimited testing access, and a pack filled with currency, skill boosts, and exclusive gear. The Mercenary Pack essentially mirrors what CCP was originally going to charge for the game, but at this point, it is totally optional.
