The Year of Luigi , Nintendo’s celebration of Mario’s green-clad beanpole brother, is winding down, but there might be one final surprise in store for the L-man’s fans. A tipster has sent images of a supposed Year of Luigi 2DS to Kotaku.
If it’s a fake, it’s an awfully elaborate one. The device is white and features green buttons (similar to the two-tone look of new 3DS models recently released in Japan) and a silhouette of Luigi on the back. The pictures included by the tipster include full English-language packaging as well. We imagine that it won’t be long before we hear if it’s real, since it wouldn’t make much sense to release a Year of Luigi 2DS during the year after the Year of Luigi.
