Project Natal Now Kinect; Xbox 360 Slim Ad Leaked?

None

Microsoft has confirmed that their motion-control system, formerly known as Project Natal, has been renamed to Kinect and will launch worldwide  this holiday, starting in North America on November 4, 2010.

Later today, at the Microsoft Media Event, we should have all the details we can handle, but for right now all we know for sure are a handful of launch titles that will be available.

Taking pages directly out of the Nintendo/Sony playbook, Microsoft will bring Joyride (kart racer), Kinect Sports (HD Wii Sports), Kinect Adventures (river rafting), Dance Central, and Kinectimals (EyePet/Pokémon/Viva Piñata amalgam).

There are also Disney and Star Wars titles coming as well as a version of EA Sports Active 2.0.  From what we know so far, Lightsabers with 1:1 controls will be in the offing.  As far as the Disney title goes, nothing concrete has yet been revealed.

It has also been rumored, on the back of a genuine-looking/possibly Photo Shopped, Italian Microsoft ad, that the Xbox 360 will get an angular, hard-lined slim version.  If the leaked ad images are in fact real (doubtful) it represents quite a aesthetic departure from the original Xbox 360’s rounded look.

We’ll have more details and confirmation on all of this in just about 45 minutes.  For now, you might want to check out a few new Kinect videos by clicking HERE and HERE .
