PS2 HD Remakes for PS3 to Continue

PS2 HD Remakes for PS3 to Continue

None

While backward compatibility has historically been a large selling point for Sony consoles, the ability to play PS2 games on the PS3 was oddly removed from all but the earliest PS3s. Starting with the God of War Collection and now with the newly announced Sly Cooper Collection, Sony is coming around to the idea of selling players back their PS2 collections in the form of upgraded HD compilations for the PS3.

President of SCE’s Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, confirmed to IGN’s Jim Reilly that they plan to release even more PS2 HD collections for their current console. Concerning the God of War Collection’s release Yoshida stated “There were a lot of positive reactions from consumers in doing that, and now we get a lot of suggestions for types of packs they’d like to see.” He further added “So we are looking to continue to do these HD conversions”. Here’s a free suggestion for the next collection to release, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus please.
