Japanese electronics site, AV Watch, as translated by NeoGaf users, is reporting that 3D output support will be part and parcel of PS3 firmware update 3.20. While this isn’t surprising, especially considering announcements from Sony just a couple months ago letting the world know that they were bringing such functionality to all of their electronics for a more unified user experience; what is surprising is that the update could be available as early as June 10, 2010. Today, the first 3D compatible TVs from Sony are hitting U.S. retailers, so it seems to make some sense that the Sony do-it-all console would be made compatible to actually get some 3D content on consumers’ 3D-ready devices by this summer. Stay tuned for official announcements in the coming weeks.
