IGN is reporting that digital downloads for the PSP are up 300% week on week since the October 1 st launch of the Sony PSP. “The launch of PSPgo has generated strong consumer interest in the overall PSP platform and the PlayStation Network’s digital content offering,” a Sony spokesperson told IGN. “In the three days since the Oct. 1 launch of PSPgo, our top retail partners experienced a 300 percent lift in PSP hardware sales compared to the prior week same period.” We’ll have to wait and see if this spurred on growth in sales is a hallmark of the redesigned system or if it is simply due to the novelty factor.
