RAGE: The Biggest Shooter On The 360?

None

RAGE is huge in regard to installation requirements. According to Jon Carmack, who delivered the keynote speech at QuakeCon 2011, players who wish to install Rage on their Xbox 360s will require between 21 and 22 gigabytes of hard drive space. This entirely rules out those of us who never upgraded from their old 20 gigabyte launch hard drives.

Though hardly the first title with outrageous space demands for the (entirely optional) process of installing a game, other such titles have been either RPGs, such as Lost Odyssey and Final Fantasy XIII, or have possessed an obscene amount of texture and animation data. L.A. Noire is an example of the latter. RAGE was designed to be graphically intensive, with consoles in mind (Carmack has stated that, for the purpose of RAGE’s development, the PC has been treated simply as a beefy console), but 20-21 gigs for a first-person shooter was simply unheard of until now.
