Rayman Legends Is A Wii U Exclusive

Rayman Legends Is A Wii U Exclusive

A while back, we heard word that Ubisoft was possibly going to port Rayman Legends, their nifty new platformer for the Wii U, to other consoles. However, now we are hearing a different story.

According to a recently released trailer, Rayman Legends will be a Wii U exclusive. That doesn’t mean Rayman won’t get his own new game on another console, but it will be something completely different from this mythical, time-traveling limbless character.

It did seem strange that Rayman Legends would somehow make it to other platforms when we first heard rumor of such around E3. The Wii U touchpad is integrated into just about every aspect of the game. In fact, some stages seemed impossible to get through without another player using the Wii U touchpad. Considering that player sometimes sees things differently than the players utilizing the TV screen, it seems as though it would be nearly impossible to recreate the game on any other platform (with the exception of possibly using the Xbox SmartGlass).

Rayman Legends will be releasing in Holiday 2012, shortly after the launch of the Wii U itself.
