Resident Evil VII’s VR Is a Temporary PSVR Exclusive

Resident Evil VII’s VR Is a Temporary PSVR Exclusive

A little more information on Resident Evil VII’ s virtual reality experience has come to light in the most unexpected way. Thanks to a Facebook ad, we know that the VR portion is a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4 owners, not a permanent exclusive. I guess this is a reason to explore that PlayStation VR at launch?

When playing Resident Evil VII , people who have a PSVR can go through the entire game with the headset. While that might seem a bit odd, this is a first first-person Resident Evil game, so it could feel rather natural. The game comes out on January 24, 2017, and the PSVR timed exclusivity should end on that day in 2018.

We’ll have to wait and see what that means for people who go for the Windows version of the game and have either an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Maybe there’ll be some sort of update or game of the year edition that will expand the VR support to other platforms? I hope so!
