The third entry in Insomniac’s hit series of alternate history, science fiction, first person shooters won’t be going it alone when it hits store shelves on September 6. At their E3 press conference tonight, Sony demonstrated the title and revealed that it will be available bundled in both a Sharpshooter pack and a Playstation 3D Monitor pack. The Sharpshooter is Sony’s gun-shaped Move accessory, resembling a plastic assault rifle and promising an enhanced sense of realism and immersion in shooter titles on the Playstation 3. The Sharpshooter Bundle will include the aforementioned peripheral, a Playstation Move controller, a Navigation controller, the Playstation Eye camera, and a copy of Resistance 3. The bundle will retail for $149.99.  Revealed at the press conference tonight, the Playstation 3D Monitor is a 24-inch screen that is not only 3D enabled, but allows two players viewing the same screen to see two different images, eliminating the need for traditional split screen during local multiplayer gaming. The monitor also comes with a pair of Playstation 3D Glasses, which were debuted at the same time, and normally retail by themselves for $69.99. When bundled with Resistance 3, however, and a six foot long HDMI cable, the whole package comes to $499.99. |
