RUMOR: PS Vita Won’t Arrive In Eurpope Until 2012

None

At E3, Sony said the PS Vita would launch sometime in 2011. Well, that might not be the case everywhere. Though the worldwide launch of the Vita will begin in late 2011, the Vita may take some time to reach certain territories, specifically Europe.

According to the rumor mill, the Vita will see a 2012 launch in Europe. Sony has not yet commented on this situation, but Europe tends to get hardware and software later than the US and Japan anyway, so this isn’t all that surprising.

Luckily enough, the PS Vita is apparently region free, so if our friends overseas really want to dish out the extra Euros, they can pick up a Japanese or American Vita and can use it all the same. Of course, then they’ll also have to import the games, and will have to sign up for an American or Japanese PS store account to get downloadable games. This might cause problems, since it’s rumored that only one account can be used per Vita.

It looks like it might just be better to wait for 2012 after all.
