RUMOR: Updated Final Fantasy 7 Hitting Steam?

None

According to a Google cache of the domain finalfantasy7pc.com, JRPG classic Final Fantasy 7 could be coming to Steam with a handful of new updates.

The cache lists such upgrades as a new set of 36 achievements, cloud save support (how fitting), and a “character booster” which allows for players to max out their HP, MP, and Gil “with the click of a button” in order to tackle particularly challenging portions of the game. The original PC version of Final Fantasy 7 was released in 1998.

The domain is currently registered under Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada’s name, so it appears this rumor may hold some weight. No official announcement has yet been made, but the cache lists the potential remake as costing £7.99 / €9.99 for digital download, which translates to roughly $12.50.
