Saints Row: The Third And The Missing Mode

Saints Row: The Third And The Missing Mode

None

Back at E3, Sony’s Jack Tretton was very excited about Saints Row: The Third. So excited, in fact, that he revealed, during Sony’s press conference, that the PlayStation 3 version of the game would feature an exclusive mode utilizing what he referred to as the game’s “signature weapon.”

The game came out yesterday and PlayStation 3 players quickly discovered that the game possessed precisely no exclusive content on PS3, Xbox 360, or on PC. What happened? Where did the extra mode go? To what “signature weapon” did it refer?

Current speculation has it that the Whored mode, which prominently features “The Penetrator,” the most iconic weapon in Saints Row: The Third’s marketing campaign, may have once been exclusive to Sony’s console. If such had been the case, and the exclusivity deal had fallen through, it’s very possible that the Whored mode was brought over to the other versions of the game as well, rather than just scrapping all that extra effort.
