Scrolls Approaching Closed Alpha Build

Scrolls Approaching Closed Alpha Build

None

Mojang’s Scrolls, a turn-based tactical RPG-style virtual card game, is rapidly approaching the closed alpha version.

This closed alpha will feature multiplayer matches, single-player matches against the A.I., and the Deck Builder, which will allow you to interact with the collectible element of the game and build your own strategies from over 100 collectible scrolls.

As development continues, the game will eventually enter the open beta phase and, like Minecraft, will then be available to be purchased by the public. The beta version will be less expensive than the final version and will come with some exclusive benefits for early adopters that purchase of the full version won’t get.

However, the alpha and the beta won’t be complete versions of the game, and it’s important to remember that. Mojang plans to include an auction house, full character customization, quests, and a full single-player world complete with story. None of these will be available in the alpha, and whether or not any of them will be included in the beta is unknown. Still, even in alpha, Scrolls looks fairly addicting to anyone who has played Final Fantasy Tactics or Magic: the Gathering in the past.
