SEGA Announces Rhythm Thief

SEGA Announces Rhythm Thief

None

Are you growing tired of Ouendan and Elite Beat Agents? Don’t worry, SEGA has a brand new touchscreen rhythm game on the way.

The game is called Rhythm Thief, and it is essentially what would happen if Elite Beat Agents and Professor Layton had some sort of bizarre baby. You play as Raphael, a thief who is notorious for stealing priceless works of art and then returning them (probably because this game is rated E.) Raphael’s father has gone missing, and the only way to find him is to steal the Wristlet of Tiamat. By dancing. His adventure will take him through modern day Paris, recreated in full 3D on the 3DS.

The gameplay is a mixture of Ouendan-style rhythm-tapping and Layton-style puzzle-solving. Truth be told, we have no idea how these two styles will mix, but we do know the game will be painfully anime. So if this is your thing, keep your eye out for Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure in early 2012.
