I loved Wing Commander back in the day. It’s been a rough decade or so, in fact, without a narrative-driven, combat-focused space-flight game either in the pipes or on shelves. And don’t get me started on that Wing Commander Arena travesty—that was an insult to the series’ namesake. Luckily, the folks at Seamless Entertainment have created SOL: Exodus in the spirit of its Wing Commander and Freespace forebears. 
Between this, Evochron Mercenary, and the forthcoming X: Rebirth, it appears that space-sim awareness is hitting a minor resurgence. Now, could we get another Colony Wars, Sony? By Shelby Reiches |
