In a move surprising no one, former arch-rivals Mario and Sonic have been officially confirmed to have a game in the works for the 2012 London Olympics. Considering the last two “Olympics” mash-ups have been relative successes, this is hardly earth-shattering news. And if you were hoping for just one more Mario and Sonic game on the Wii before the rumored release of the Wii 2, then you’ll get your chance.  Although if you were wanting another version of the game on the DS, you’ll be sadly disappointed, as the game is coming exclusively to the 3DS platform. No firm release date has been set for either version, but my money’s on an appearance in late 2011 to allow for maximum excitement before the actual Olympics are held in summer 2012. |
