Sony Eyeing Motion Controls For NGP?

Sony Eyeing Motion Controls For NGP?

None

How would you like to be able to use your move controller with the new NGP? If a new patent application is to be believed, this is something that may actually be on the horizon. The patent shows Sony Move controllers being used with a PSP-like device (the picture actually looks like a PSP Go).

Though it’s easy to immediately dismiss the patent application as simple conjecture, the front-facing camera on the NGP would make playing with Move controllers very possible. The only problem then would be holding the device far enough away to use the Move controllers. In the image, the portable is on a stand on a table, but, considering the NGP’s small size, it might be difficult to see the screen from a far enough distance to use the Move controls effectively.

Of course, another possibility is that the NGP peripheral could be used as a replacement for the PlayStation Eye to open up the Move peripheral for those who have both a PlayStation 3 and an NGP. But that one is pretty farfetched, especially since absolutely nothing has been officially confirmed about the Move and the NGP working together quite yet.
