Sony Ready To Get Competitive With 3D Gaming

None

Though this weekend will see the release of the first dedicated 3D console with the Nintendo 3DS, the folks at Sony want to take this time to remind you of their commitment to 3D as well and released a statement today that nearly thirty games available by the end of 2011 for the PlayStation 3 are 3D compatible.

Although they stopped short of naming all of the 3D games that were coming to the system, they mentioned plenty of first-party titles including the newest iteration of SOCOM, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, and Uncharted 3. And if you think no one is interested in 3D, Sony wants you to think again, as it released the statistic that 20% of all downloads of the Killzone 3 demo were for the 3D edition. Of course, that doesn’t account for people that think they have a 3D TV (but don’t), but it is still a fairly impressive number for technology that was just implemented last June.
