As reported by IGN, Nintendo recently registered the domain name supermario4.com. As of right now, there is no actual page at that domain; it just links back to the region select screen of Nintendo’s main page. Of course, this has led the entire gaming community to speculate on whether or not Nintendo will be making a Super Mario 4. It’s entirely possible that Nintendo registered this domain to prevent anyone else from taking it in the future. However, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata did say that the company was working on another 2D side-scrolling Mario game for the 3DS in the company’s January fiscal results announcement.
