SW:TOR Vehicles Revealed, Release Date Narrowed

None

Star Wars fans at Comic-Con gobbled up a little more information about the upcoming MMO at yesterday’s Star Wars: The Old Republic panel. Game director James Ohlen, executive producer Rich Vogel, and community manager Stephen Reid shared a bit of information about the game’s character development, vehicles, and release information.

“We try to make sure that we match the iconic roles people want to play in the game,” said Vogel. Dickinson added that players “will not see one duplicate mission” among the classes during the development of their individual storylines.

Attendees to the panel also got a sneak peak at a few of the vehicles that will be included. They got to check out a few Landspeeder and speeder bikes designs, but heard very little information about how they would be used. The panel also remained relatively vague regarding the game’s release date. The phrase “holiday season” got tossed around a lot, but the team wouldn’t narrow it down any more than that.

However, all of this talk of release dates means nothing if you live outside of Europe and North America. Today, BioWare announce that Old Republic would limit its initial launch to Europe and North America, adding, “We are committed to delivering Star Wars: The Old Republic to BioWare and Star Wars fans around the world, and to growing a truly global community.” The timeframe for this “global community” still remains a mystery.
