Target Testing Trade-In Waters

None

As Star Wars has taught us, the tighter you squeeze, the more slips right through your fingers. While it seems like every game publisher is taking strides to help put an end to the used game market, more and more retailers are beginning to open their doors to it. Major retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Toys R Us have already instituted game trade-in programs, and now Target is joining the list according to 1Up.

Target will be beginning their used game trade-in program in Northern Californian stores initially, hoping to have it running in over 850 locations by the end of the year. Anyone interested in selling their used games, as well as “smart phones, MP3 players, and cell phones,” will be able to visit an in-store Target Mobile counter to have their items evaluated and traded for store credit. The retailer also plans to implement a similar program on their website.
