If the thought of the DOA gals returning to their bikinis gets the heart pumping, Tecmo is set to give you heart failure.
Tecmo producer Tomonobu Itagaki is hard at work on his next X360 project, tentatively titled DOAX2 which is a sequel to the oddball Xbox game, DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
Itagaki refers to the new project as a “swimsuit” game and hinted that DOAX2 will feature more than just volleyball this time around. Acknowledging that the first game in the series was “monotonous”, Itagaki plans to spice things up in the next iteration, although he wouldn’t elaborate further.
The game development appears to be speeding along as the team is already finished recording the opening and ending cinematics, which will be pre-rendered like DOA4. The game will feature online play which should excite those with XBL.
The game is on the fast track at Tecmo, and is currently being developed by double the amount of staff as the original. Gamers can expect to be treated to a trailer at E3 2006 in May.
