Stranger Things VR is an upcoming VR game, or Virtual Reality, made by Meta. This VR game will let the player see the world of the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things, through their own eyes. It was meant to be released on November 30th, 2023, but has since been delayed. This VR game is relatively short. But make no mistake, it can certainly make things a bit…stranger.
Developed by Tender Claws Studio, this VR quest will let the player see the world from Venca’s perspective. Presumably before the events of the show.
Stranger Things VR Premise
This game lets the player see the world through Venca’s eyes. Who is Venca? Oh, no one special. Just a scared little boy who is also a deranged psychopath who looks like a flesh monster. He hunts the girl known as Eleven throughout the series, and in the VR, we get to see how he was made that way. In other words, how a child becomes a man, and how a man becomes a monster.
The game takes you through the unknown realities. These lands are, for better or worse, a complete and utter hellscape that shifts, changes, and torments a boy with nightmares beyond one’s reckoning.
So, all in all, not fun.
Stranger Things VR Main Characters
Since this game has heavy spoilers for the show, we will give you the cliff notes version.
- Venca. A boy who was trained in the psychicways. Only, he was a bit too good at them, and he becomes a monster of his violation. In other words, he’s the BBEG. And he’s the player character.
- Eleven. One of Stranger Things’ most well-known characters. She is called “Eleven” due to being the 11th test subject for studying psychic powers by the U.S. government.

Is there a Stranger Things game for VR? There are two! Stranger Things: The VR Experience, and Stranger Things: VR. I know the titles are confusing, but they are, in fact, different games.
How much will Stranger Things VR cost? About 29.99 USD.
Why is VR still so expensive? Its a complicated technology, with a lot of complex factors going in. Hence the cost.
Is Stranger Things just a game of DND? While the show in question does have an homage to DnD, or Dungeons and Dragons, the connection between the two is a bit superficial. As the kids do play it, and in turn, name creatures after it.
Who is Vecna based on? Freddy Kruger of Nightmare on Elm Street fame.
