Skyrim is a gorgeous and expansive game, yes, but it could clearly be bigger and more beautiful. This is the theory behind Bethesda’s release of the Skyrim Creation Kit, the content creation toolset for their newest Elder Scrolls title. With it, modding can begin in earnest and, given a few months (maybe years), gamers can expect a tremendous library of tweaks and improvements to the base game to be freely available online for their perusal and pleasure. Alongside it, Bethesda has brought out a high-resolution texture pack for the game. Its requirements are demanding, citing 4GB of system RAM and a video card with 1GB of VRAM. You should also have the latest drivers and either Windows Vista or 7 (64-bit, to take full advantage of your memory). For those with a beefy enough system, though, the experience is guaranteed to be Skyrim at its best (until a user-made texture mod eventually puts it in its place).
