The Golden Joystick Awards are a celebration of all of the greatest games, hardest working developers, and brightest stars in gaming. Millions of votes poured in for this year’s nominees and you, the people, have been heard: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was the game of 2015. Wild Hunt and developer CD Projekt RED took home a total of five awards: Studio of the Year, Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, Best Gaming Moment, and Ultimate Game of the Year.
This was a huge night for CD Projekt RED, who stole the spotlight on a night that is typically all about the more established studios; names like Rockstar Games, Bethesda, Nintendo, and Infinity Ward. CD Projekt board member Michał Nowakowski couldn’t decide which was the bigger honor, the fact that fans recognized The Witcher 3 as the game of the year, or the fact that CD Projekt RED was praised for being the best at what they do: storytelling and putting fans first.
