For the past several years, The SmackDown vs. Raw series has had a chokehold on the WWE video game market. However, fans of the WWE started getting a little bit bored with the franchise, and by the time last year’s iteration came around, it was clear that a reinvention was necessary. Fast-forward to this week—the SvR series has been proclaimed dead. In its stead will be WWE. No really, the title of the new franchise will be simply WWE.  The first entry, WWE 12, will feature a whole host of new features, which we will be telling you about next week. For now, all we can say is that the new game is going to be released on November 22, 2011, will feature Randy Orton on the cover, and will be coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
