Thief Wastes $1 Million on Game of War

Mobile games are pretty effective at getting people to spend their money on in-app purchases. They rely on instant gratification and easier roads to success. So much so that one man from California found himself spending $1 million on Game of War . Oh, but it gets better than that.

This 45-year-old man, Kevin Lee Co, first stole about $4.8 million from Holt California, where he worked as a controller. After embezzling those funds, he went and spent $1 million of it on Game of War . Additional spending sprees included cash spent on plastic surgery, cars, a golf club membership, and season tickets to both the Sacramento Kings and San Francisco 49ers.

Apparently, he isn’t alone. Game of War supposedly makes $1 million per day according to Think Gaming . As an analogy, think of it as like EVE Online . People can spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on troops and equipment, and they can be lost in an instant, should a battle go wrong. It’s a costly addiction!
