This Week In Delays

None

Hopefully, your July wasn’t going to revolve around El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. The surreal action-platformer has been pushed back from its original July 26 release date to August 16. Citing “unforeseen logistical issues,” Ignition Entertainment was quick to assure gamers that this isn’t a conflict between them and the title’s developers, whom Ignition says they would “love” to work with again.

In the wake of Mega Man Legends 3’s traumatic cancellation and Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy’s evolution into Revelations, 3DS owners have been left somewhat cold. Unfortunately, their prospects are cooling further with the announcement that Shinobi 3DS—a side-scrolling action title starring series hero Joe Musashi’s father, Jiro—and puzzler Crush3D have been delayed from their original September release dates to November 15 and February 21, 2012 respectively.

It’s always unfortunate when an anticipated game gets delayed, but at least there’s a silver lining. Such setbacks are usually intended to allow developers time to improve and add additional polish to their titles. This can often ensure that they see greater success and, with luck and a positive response, future iterations for their fans to enjoy.
