Tony Hawk Ends Working Relationship with Activision

Things haven’t been so great for the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, particularly after a damning reception to the last entry, the fifth core title in the line. But now, we’ve seen what may as well be the final nail in the coffin, regardless of any lingering licensing. Via a Twitter post responding to fans, Tony Hawk himself has confirmed he is no longer working with Activision.

Apparently, desperate Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fans have been pleading to the man himself for remasters of the older, more well-liked games, or lamenting about dead servers for more contemporary versions. Hawk sent out a blanket response, saying that as much as he’d like to be able to, nothing’s going to happen anytime soon.

Hawk stated that while Activision owns the license to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater , he is “no longer working with them.” Considering Neversoft was shut down in 2014, and Robomodo has failed multiple times to live up to the series’ legacy, this may be for the best. But, as IGN reminds us, there is a documentary about the series coming soon, and Hawk has hinted in the past that a new, non-Activision game could be coming in some form.
