Upset that Mark Wahlberg beat out fan favorite Nathan Fillion for the role of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie? You’re not alone! At a recent screening for David O. Russell’s The Fighter, a fan came up to Russell and told him that he needed to reconsider casting Fillion for the role. The fan then went on to say that he was an expert on the matter as he had played all of the Uncharted games (all two of them!), and Fillion would be perfect for the role as he “acts exactly like that dude.” A visibly uncomfortable Russell tried to move past the fan, with little rebuttal. He just told the fan that, “You know, if they want to put somebody in there that’s not a big deal” and commended him for “st[anding] up for your boy.”  It seems unlikely that anyone will change Russell’s casting decisions this late in the pre-production game, but it seems that even in the face of certain defeat, the browncoats will still stand up for their fearless leader. Go, team Nathan! |
