The Uncharted Movie Has No Release Date

The Uncharted Movie Has No Release Date

Things aren’t looking so good for that Uncharted movie. It seems like it can’t catch a break. It’s gone through multiple writers. Nathan Drake hasn’t been cast. Now, the movie doesn’t even have a release date. Originally set for June 30, 2017, it now has no release date whatsoever.

This is only part of the Uncharted movie’s problems. Its script has had over seven writers attached over the years Joe Carnahan is the most recent, but people like Mark Boal, David Guggenheim, Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, David O. Russell, Mark Boal, and Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer were all once weighing in on it. David O. Russell, Neil Burger, and Seth Gordon were all once on deck as directors, but each has dropped out. There was no way this was going to be out in 2017.

Maybe now is a good time for Sony to completely reevaluate the idea of an Uncharted movie. It seems like the forces of the universe are already doing everything they can to squash it.
