You know when you hear about these video game movies? They always have writers, directors, and producers who have either done nothing or have done nothing good. Well, that isn’t happening with Uncharted’ s movie. At least, not in the area of the script. Joe Carnahan is the latest person attached to the project, and he’s writing the script.
Here’s why Carnahan joining the Uncharted movie is a good thing. Carnahan has done a lot of adequate, good, and great things. He’s written, directed, and produced episodes of The Blacklist . He wrote State of Affairs and The A-Team . He’s also produced The Grey and State of Affairs. He’s also directing Bad Boys 3 .
Now, there is a downside. While Carnahan sounds like good news, the Uncharted movie has had trouble before. David O. Russell and Mark Wahlberg were attached, but dropped out. It was supposed to start filming last year, but hasn’t yet. It hasn’t even cast any actors. So, we’ll have to see exactly how well it eventually does.
