Last Stop is a third-person supernatural adventure game where players control one of three characters. The game follows one of three storylines that converge into a final chapter. Developed by Variable State and published by Annapurna Interactive, Last Stop arrived on July 22, 2021. The title received middling reviews from critics and fans. It was recommended by fans of other narrative adventure studios like Telltale, but it was criticized for bland gameplay.
Premise Of Last Stop
Last Stop’s story takes place in 1980s London. It follows teenagers Peter and Samantha as they steal from an officer before escaping into tunnels underground. Surprisingly, they find an odd well-dressed man waiting for them. The man offers them the opportunity to step inside the portal and evade the officers. Samantha accepts while Peter hesitates. Once the officer arrives at the scene they find no one there waiting for them. The story jumps forward to 2020 and splits into three scenarios before joining again into one narrative at the end.
Main Characters Of Last Stop
- Donna – a spaced-out high-schooler who feels trapped by her stifling home life and her overprotective big sister. Away from home, Donna seeks teenage thrills with her friends Becky and Vivek but gets more than she bargained for when the trio become unexpected kidnappers in a game of amateur detective gone wrong.
- John – an overworked middle-aged single dad. Burdened with debt and the pressures of being an only parent, John jealously pines after the free and easy life of his twenty-something bachelor neighbor, Jack. When the pair unwittingly fall foul of a vengeful stranger, a cursed artifact threatens to transform their lives forever.
- Meena – a ruthlessly ambitious professional who struggles to find the same satisfaction with her family that she does in the thrill of her work. As Meena vies with an upstart colleague for a crucial promotion, something ancient stirs in the basement beneath her workplace.
