User-Friendly Mario Maker Companion Site on the Way

User-Friendly Mario Maker Companion Site on the Way

Nintendo is taking every shortcoming in Super Mario Maker (there aren’t many) and addressing them to make it the best game possible. One of the biggest complaints coming from course creators soon after launch was that they lacked any kind of mid-level checkpoint, severely limiting the scope of what seemed reasonable in course creation in terms of length and challenge. This was swiftly addressed in a patch, along with some other small issues, and now we have more creative freedom than ever.

That creative freedom has led to over 3.3 million playable courses being uploaded. One of my complaints early on was how overwhelming it could be to try to sort through all of the courses to find styles and challenges that appeal to my tastes. Nintendo to the rescue! During its recent Direct, Nintendo announced a Super Mario Maker companion site that will hopefully launch next month. The site, which will be accessible through your PC or smartphone, will offer much more capable search capabilities than what you find in-game so you can find exactly what you’re looking for. Find the perfect course while you’re on the bus, flag it, and then find it waiting for you when you get home. Perfect!
