THQ has just announced a deal to produce video games based on the ’80s cartoon Voltron. The games in question are expected to be based on Nicktoons’ new take on the franchise, Voltron Force. THQ has stated that the games will build on the original cartoon.  Other popular ’80s cartoon/anime series to receive similar treatment include Robotech, with the most recent game adaptation appearing on the Gamecube, Transformers, whose most recent game, War for Cybertron, met with critical praise, and the Gundam series whose mechs have appeared in countless games over the years. Gamers can expect to be able to defend the universe this fall. |
